My tours - groups (bus)

I have been guiding bus excursions for 7 years now to many popular Croatian destinations, like Istria, Islands (Krk, Cres, Lošinj, Rab), Opatija and Rijeka as well as Plitvice lakes and other parts. As a tour-operator or tour-guide you can contact me if you need a professional and experienced guide for your groups. Aside from the 'classical' tours and must-see places, you can count on me for good advice on restaurants, boat trips, organized events (music, workshops, gastronomy-tours) or anything else, different from others. These kind of additions to the tours are mostly an extra happening and come in very handy, for the guests and tour-operators.

I find it very important that people get as much as possible from the days that I accompany them. It is the unique chance to present my county in a real light, presenting al the ups (and downs) of it.

In a more days trip with one group I build up a story about Croatia, weaving the information on an interesting and interactive way, providing all the necessary information about the regions we visit, but also building a image of the complete country.
The past, present and future interact with each other to form a whole picture, not leaving anything of importance out of it.

As well as the country, the stories are not always pretty, especially while passing by the scenes and ruins of the latest war that struck Croatia in the 90's. Minding the fact that I myself have been affected by it, the story becomes emotional, while I remember some of the stories from that time. I concider the last day with the groups a day when good friends say goodbye. It is interesting how fast a bond between people can be created.

Group trips often have their down sides, like a fixed program, too little time to do things, being bounded to the group, following the same as many others. To improve this I have created some other possible excursions and day trips that might be interesting to offer. Most of the time my tours will go into the touristicly less exposed areas, and there are two reasons to do so. The first one is to show people more than what they have seen on the commercials about Croatia, and the second one is to bring some tourist economy into some places that have less or none at all. By bringing people to see these places, we help them find their position on the map of Croatia as a touristical destination and help the local economy as well.

Right in the direct neighbourhood of the Plitvice Lakes (30 km), about 45 min drive you find Plaški, a place where some of my tours take place. With the group you can visit the pottery atelier Janja Gora, if you have time you can even visit the workshop. A visit to the 18 century Serb orthodox cathedral is also one of the options.

Just take a look at the specific tours for smaller groups and see if you find some of the options interesting for your own group. It is a great opportunity to extend your Croatian experience.

Individual trips

If you are traveling alone, with a small group you also can read tour offers as mentioned and see if you find something that fits your expectations and imagination. It would be too much to list all of the possibilities but here are some of them: rafting, horse riding, caving, helping with the field works in the village, making your own food or brandy (slivovic).

All of these tours are also a kind of a gastronomical journey, as we stop to taste local products and the food we eat is often made from self grown ingredients. Want to know more? Contact (email) me and tell me your wishes.

Legal notice:

These are the things you should take care of before planning your trip:
- you should have your own travel insurance arranged;
- you should always take care that you have sufficient equipment for the daily trips, like good shoes, clothes or any other necessity;
- if you have any health issues and/or use any medicine, you should let me know before the trip. You yourselfare responsible for anything that happens regarding your physical and mental health;
- in case of cancelling reservations from the client's side: 8 days before trip - full amount return, 7-3 days before trip 50% of amount return, 2 days or no show up, no money return
- in case of weather which makes the trip impossible (especially for the hiking tours), another activity can be planed for less or the same price as the planned trip, even if the proposed replacement trip costs more (that excludes extra tickets or other 'external' costs).

Please note that in accordance with the Croatian law I am allowed to offer only my guiding services, not the tour operator and agency services. Therefore, anything outside my work area, like accommodation reservations and other tourist facilities will and should be arranged by an official tour-operator. You always engage in my tours on your own responsibility and risk.
